Challenging Rally Finland for Andreas Mikkelsen

Challenging Rally Finland for Andreas Mikkelsen

Eyes on the next event after a challening rally in Finland. 10th place and 1 championship point was not what he planned for at Rally Finland.

- This has not been the weekend we expected. We knew it was going to be challenging, but not as bad as it turned out to be. I did a mistake on the Friday, when I misheard a pace-note, we lost time and dropped down in the classification. Meaning we ended up being first on the road both Saturday and Sunday. From that start-position it is almost impossible to get a good result in Finland, Andreas explains. – It’s so much loose gravel on the stages, and it feels like you are just floating on top it.

Together with co-driver Anders Jaeger he struggled to find the good feeling with the car, and instead used to remaining stages to test out various settings for future events.

- We will go home now and analyze everything from the weekend, and come back stronger than ever. Next event is Rally Germany, where we ended second last year. I’m expecting us to perform on a different level there, and show that we are still in the game!

Ott Tanak won Rally Finland, ahead of Mads Østberg second and Jari-Matti Latvala third.

All the best,

Andreas
